The Asteri team had the pleasure of joining over 1,500 delegates in attending the ARCS 2023 conference last week.
ARCS 2023 is a priority conference for the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical technology sector, and we were joined by key decision makers as well as a broad cross section of people working across industry, government and the university sectors - all intent upon hearing the latest updates on both regulatory and clinical guidance, along with critical changes in the professional landscape from governments.
And though many cutting-edge topics and technological advancements were discussed over the course of the conference, more sessions (than in previous years) seemed to focus on the nature and growing number of ethical challenges facing our industry.
The impact of technology's rapid change of pace and the increasingly important need to prioritise cultural and social parameters was perhaps no better illustrated than by the contrast between one of the early sessions and one of the concluding plenary sessions at the conference.
The former opened with ARCS CEO, Shanny Dyer talking to Executive Director OHMR, NSW Health, Tony Penna on his retirement from the position and reflecting on the personal responsibility that an individual once had to accept and commit to in order to ensure a long and successful career in health and medical research, while one of the concluding plenary sessions, titled ‘Cybercrime: the new pandemic!’ outlined how external forces are now a threat to every healthcare professional’s career, and what we must prepare for in the future.
With terms like ‘hacker’, ‘scams’ and scary’ emerging as key concerns of participants in the latter session, there’s no doubt the integrity of the people and companies we collaborate with is greater than ever before – and is vital to ensuring better patient outcomes.
Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to chat with the Asteri team at ARCS 2023.
Asteri is an emerging player in the biopharmaceutical commercialisation and distribution space, but events such as this really do assure us that our company mission is truly important and reinforce our belief that strong relationships will be just as important as strong product offerings in tomorrow’s market.
Our thanks go out to the entire ARCS team for providing such a wonderful event for education and targeted advocacy and collaboration.
